Storyline The Last Summer
Four good friends, all seventeen-year old, lose their innocence during their last summer together. Flanders 1996. Rik, Tim, Roel and Bart aimlessly wile away the summer days in a small village where nothing exciting ever happens. When Rik becomes fascinated by the mysterious Sandrine, the boy's friendship comes under increasing pressure. The Last Summer was a very cute and emotionally charged summer read. I enjoyed reading about this group of seven friends as they traversed through life’s changes especially the relationship ones. I was pretty emotionally wound up in this story, and I must confess that I cheated. I looked at the end. I had to know the outcome.
