ReplyDeleteI have watched Brighton Beach Memoirs many times on tv. Takes place during WWII. It takes us back to the times when earning a living was hard and in this case even harder for the Jerome family because a sister-in-law and her two daughters lived with the Jeromes because she was a widow. The antics of Eugene, the younger Jermone son, are comical.
ReplyDeleteJonathan Silverman played Eugene Morris Jerome in the Broadway production of "Broadway Bound" and also in the film Brighton Beach Memoirs (1986). Matthew Broderick played him in Biloxi Blues (1988) whilst Corey Parker portrayed him in this tele-movie. Parker was the third actor to play the character in films and TV and the first on television.
